interr currently holds SIA Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) for the provision of Security Guarding and Door Supervision. The objective of the SIA’s ACS scheme is to raise performance standards and to assist the private security industry in developing new opportunities. The scheme is voluntary and was developed in consultation with representatives from across the industry; it only covers those parts of the industry that are regulated by the SIA and the Private Security Industry Act. There is a single scheme, with sector-specific approval based on a relevant set of qualifying criteria.

SafeContractor is an accreditation scheme that assesses the health & safety competency of contractors and service providers. Clients have a legal obligation to ensure that external contractors and service providers working on their premises operate in a safe way. There is therefore a need to assess contractors health & safety arrangements and increasingly this is being carried out through SafeContractor. The Crime Prevention Association has over 300 members, primarily from the financial and business sectors of the City of London and other security communities around London, with an average attendance of around 120. The members of the Association are integral and their continuing support is vital to the Association’s success. CSSC operates across a wide range of sectors, with each headed up by one or more Industry Sector Leads (ISLs).
